What a busy month May has been so far, but an exciting month! We have five new goat kids, and saying they are adorable doesn't even do them justice! We have missed our goat milk, (the past year we had to take off for the health of our goats) so the milk mustaches are a common sighting at our homestead. We successfully had two butcher days, offered our first hands-own butcher day training, nature walk, cutting down the chickens, and canning chicken and broth. We managed to get 86 cans of broth so far...the most we have gotten before! Now to add more madness to the chaos (because why have one project going on when you can 9...obviously) we are prepping for the Third Annual Homestead Festival at Rory Feeks Homestead in Tennessee. There are a lot of homestead festivals that happen, but this one will always have a special place in our heart! The first year we went just to learn, the second we set up our own booth, and this year we have a booth and a demonstration spot (we are excited!) There is a lot of prep going on to get our goats and our home-makings ready to go. We are also trying lasagna gardening for the first time, and this year we finally have strawberries, yummmmmmy! There are so many homestead happenings going on right now, but that is all for now, thank you for joining us on our homesteading journey, be blessed and less stressed, and happy homesteading!!!
